Iraqi German Investment Conference in Munich on 7^th November 2009.

Under the auspices of H.E. Nouri Al Maliki , Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq , the first Iraqi German Investor Conference of the DAFG –German Arab Friendship Association , took place in Munich .

Mrs. Emilia Müller, State Minister for Federal and European Affairs of the Free State of Bavaria, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Alaa Al Hashimy as well as Dipl. Eng. Nasyr Birkholz opened the conference.

Birkholz International GmbH not only participated as the main Sponsor in this event, Mr. Birkholz himself moderated several sessions about industry, construction and infrastructure in his role as an Engineer and Expert on the situation in Iraq on one hand and the cooperate structure in Germany on the other. He reported on current projects in the provinces and led discussions between Iraqi ministers and interested German entrepreneurs.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Iraq H.E. Fawzi Al Hariri a 50 member delegation participated in the conference to inform about investment projects and contract opportunities in Iraq and to interact in meetings with the German side.

For 8 hours and over seven sessions the German participants were informed comprehensively about the different investment opportunities in Iraq and had the opportunity to introduce their companies and products and also to report on their experiences in Iraq so far.

The interest in this conference by the German companies was remarkable with over 300 Companies which convinces us about the great interest in the Iraqi market.
