The Birkholz Group was founded in 1991 and is made up of the companies Birkholz International GmbH, BB by Berlin GmbH, Birkholz Transport and Logistics and the partner company Somerland Distribution & Trading Agency Co.Ltd.

All these companies were founded by Nasyr Birkholz, which he is managing himself up until now.

History:

1991 Foundation of Birkholz Transports in Berlin, Germany.

1997 Birkholz Transports is DHL`s largest logistics and transportation service Partner in Berlin and Brandenburg.

2001 Foundation of the company Birkholz International –Association for foreign trade & Industry / Representation in Berlin.

2002 Foundation of the partner company Somerland Distribution & Trading Agencies Co.Ltd, Bagdad / Iraq.

2008 Opening of a branch office to Birkholz International GmbH, Ratingen Düsseldorf, North Rhine Westphalia.

2009 Birkholz Transports is DHL`s largest Logistics and transportation service provider in North Rhine Westphalia.

2009 Opening of an exclusive headquarter office for Birkholz International GmbH in Berlin, Friedrichstrasse

2009 exploration of new fields in Iraq, Construction Industry and energy sector.

2009 Support and funding of youth projects between Iraq and Germany

2009 Organization of the investor’s conference in Berlin and Munich in 2010

2010 Foundation of the Company BB by Berlin GmbH.

In the meantime the Birkholz Group is employing over 130 skilled people in independently operating branches in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Sulaymania and Bagdad.

Nasyr Birkholz:

The German Business man with Arab descent was born in Bagdad in 1959 as the son of a physician. He enjoyed an excellent education at international schools and therefore was able to acquire knowledge and contacts beyond his home country.

In 1977 he graduated from school with the general qualification for university entrance and completed in 1981 as a civil engineer at the University of Bagdad for engineering. Until 1988 he was responsible for several construction projects. Since 1988 Mr. Birkholz lives and works in Berlin, Germany and started getting familiar with the German jurisdiction and the German economy. He fluently speaks German, English and Arabic. In 1992 he married Katrin Birkholz; they have 2 boys age 14 and 18.

His is interested in economics, politics, architecture, literature, Travelling and sports.

In addition of leading the Birkholz group, Nasyr Birkholz is also

Member of the board of the DAFG since 2007.

Member of the German chambers of commerce and industry.

Member of the Ghorfa, German Arab chambers of commerce and industry.

Member of the association of Iraqi engineers.

Birkholz International GmbH –Company for foreign Trade and Industry is specialized in distributing high quality products to Iraq in combination of performing modern management strategies. Birkholz International GmbH is aimed to build and maintain long lasting strong business relationships.

One of the outcomes of these activities is the foundation of the partner company Somerland Distribution & Trading Agencies Co.Ltd in 2003. With facilities in Bagdad and Sulaymania the company is exclusive distributor for Schwarzkopf & Henkel with more than 1200 customers. The Companies philosophy is to provide high quality products with the best prices possible to the customers.

Companies from Germany are being supported by an Iraq experienced expert and manager, who provides local assistance regarding administration, contact network and know how. The team is supporting with building up a local network, commercial launches, exhibition participations, constant exclusive presentation of interests as well as managing the distribution chain, project managing and supervision.
